Daegu Music Factory is a locally based institute specializing in supporting the production of various genres of music by young artists in an effort to develop the popular music industry. The factory is involved in all areas necessary for the nurturing of the music industry, including planning, education, creation, production, distribution, support, and consumption. More specifically, it supports music creation such as music academies, experimental music projects, sound source production, and open auditions as well as performance-related infrastructure such as practice rooms, showcases and performances, and collaborative work. It also conducts music business activities, such as media platform building, network promotion, and contents development.

The three-story institute has digital workrooms, rehearsal rooms, business support rooms, networking space, and performance halls on site including a fully usable basement. Local musicians no longer have to travel to Seoul for first-rate audio recording, as there is a digital audio workstation with computer-based audio recording and editing systems, and a grand piano optimized for audio recording.

The Kolon Open Air Music Hall located in Duryu Park is a popular summertime venue for Daegu residents. Opened in 2000, the music hall boasts of being the largest single outdoor hall in Korea. The grassy plaza built on a 10,000-pyeong area can accommodate 27,000 people. The venue offers an excellent space for large-scale open-air performances such as operas, musicals, and concerts of any kind. At this popular music venue, one can enjoy performances while resting in the expansive outdoor space.
